 T.Tech Time Line
« Thread Started on Feb 2, 2006, 10:24am »

Ok, I have the release order of Predators like this:

XT
95-Pro
International
XK5
XK98
Mitcham
ETQ
P8
X10

who can let me know the dates of releases and the actual factory upgrades between each car?

I have a good idea of them, but I want to ensure that the "timeline" that I am trying to put together is factually correct.

Hopefully Richard might pop by, and put the details down? ;D

XT = 1994
95-pro=1995
international/national = 1996 (the national did not have a slipper or ondertraysą
XK5= 1997
XK98=1998
mitscham=1999
etc=2000
P8=2001 (last time they won)

I think it's like this and it looks like it could be correct (XK98 from 1998)

please correct me if I'm wrong

The XT had an old version 'rounded' cockpit shell with a narrom cockpit, the shells covered front and rear shocks

the 95pro and international also had the old body but the cockpit was a bit wider (check the bodies in my post -I made a deal-)

the XK5 and later verions had the more modern body, not rounded cockpit (this has the beneft of having a wing in the middle of your car!) and they were all red anodised except for the P8 which was black

The Xt and 95pro were mostly gold anodised with (sometimes blue?) anodised shocks.

again please correct me if I'm wrong !

The first cars weren't truly designated 'XT' (but soon they were!) they were out at the end of 1993. The chassis numbers follow the pattern of the new X10 ones - my early car is '93 but my XT is '94.

I have the first three 'Driver Information database' releases which were posted to drivers before the advent of the 'net'.

From memory of reading it - the first production Predator left the factory on 18th September 1993.

The XK-98 was called the Mitcham XK-98 or XK-98 Mitcham to celebrate the 1997 BRCA National winning car BUT I'm fairly sure there was a 'Worlds' edition of this car too ?? with bits on ?! (so there's still a car between XK-98 and ETQ)

Most of those years are correct, however the ETQ was out at the end of 1998 (for the 1999 season) after the car TQ'd the 1998 European Champs.

The P8 is correct, however there was so little press for it it's hard to tell...

Most of the anodising was red, however the XT had gold anodising, The 95 Pro/Tee and One had Blue anodising. The International and National had Blue anodising. The XK-5 onwards were red bar the P8 then.

It's possible later 'National' cars could have had red anodising as it was still available alongside the XK-5... ::)

Most of the cars were out at the end of the year celebrating the past seasons win ready for the next season, that's why it gets confusing. Not sure if the XK-98 was out right at the end of '97 of start of '98 but ETQ was out at the end of the year, the ad's in Jan '99 Racer mag (released December '98) :P

I will try and send ALL my ads, reviews and other snippets from the magazines, but I can't always tell when your mailbox is full Chris. Aside from the P8 and ETQ there is a good deal of info in them :D

The tub has to be an XT or original Pred as (I think!) the serial number starts with a 3 ? meaning it was made in 1993 pre-95 Pro...

That's something I'm quite interested in :) I never knew where the changeover came, often all the oldest Pred's are called XT, but it's not always the case, there were a good few originals, pre-XT

I wonder if all the 95 Pro cars start with a 5 for '95 production ??? there could be some early ones starting with 4 maybe ?

LOL - there is a number between those I know. It's number 9. But can you imagine what a P9 would get called in the pits? ;D :-[ :o

There was a tiny sentence of news in Racer once, in the snippets at the top of the page in the news pages.

I think it was around 2000, I'm sure the P8 was already out...

All it said was " TTech will soon be releasing the Predator GT "

(or something very similar)

nothing was heard after that until the X10 so it could have been early work in progress....

I'ts not exactly this!! There is no car between the XK98 and the ETQ.
Otherwise there is a car between the XK5 and the XK98 => the XK5 world spec!!
Remember that William have raced at Barcelone and ranch pit shop in 97 with the XK5 world spec (2x3 chassis, etc...).
This "factory Predator" became "XK98 Mitcham" ("Mitcham" since the beginning) for the sales at the end of 1997.
The ETQ was available on spring 1999 or summer I do'nt remember exactly....
