Hi guys, I'm currently restoring this little beauty! I don't think its got the right prop shaft though has it? Shouldn't it be the fat prop with no slipper? If so, does anyone have one? Can anyone spot anything else not "stock"? I know the ball joints on the rear shocks are wrong. I could also do with a shell for it if anyones got one! What wheels should it have on? Cheers, G

it should have orange wheels, I think, and I am fairly sure you are correct about the propshaft being the wrong one too.
I have my doubts over the front wishbones as well - I think the front ones were a very similar design to the rears, without all the "webbing" inside and around the outer edges of the wishbones.
I have a very battered shell that would suit it, and make it look a mess!
what gears are in the 'boxes?

I wasn't sure if the wheels should be orange or white. Thought the prop was wrong. Also thought the front wishbones were wrong. Seen some flimsy ones somewhere, I'll fir them. I've not been in the boxes yet, just brushed it off really! Where's Coop when you need him? Cheers, G

Not the best pred historian me, but may be able to help.
I have a source for bnib orange pred wheels, he me also have some early spares.
Call Darren Boyle at DMS racing, 01923 816636.
If he says he hasn't got time to look he did offer all of his pred spares at a one off price. He even has a bnib touring car chassis. Diff rebuild kits, ally outdrives that kinda thing. When i next pop in to say hello i could have a root around for you.

I'm back guys!
a fast answer I'll go into details later.
prop shaft: you need the fat one front upper wishbones: without reinforcements inside wheels: orange (I have some for ya) shell: I have one also but it's rare and would be quite expensive and I'll have a shell-less car if I would sell it... front lower: I'll have to look up, not sure about them.
cheers!

Hi Northy! I was on a scouting camp (its was fun but bad bad weather) Don't have a fat prop shaft, but I do have some orange wheels not new but in a reasonable condition. I'm not sure about the shell yet. (see your pm) I also have the old rear gearboxtop, without reinforcement ribs inside. but that's not visible from outide also remember the old car didn't have a one-way. what gears are in it?

I've yet to see what gears are in it.
Cheers Coop, I'd like the wheels. Is there anything you need that I might have?
Do you know anyone who might have a fat prop shaft?
Cheers,
G

How many bearings do you need? I've got 73 tooth spurs.

I love these old carbon tub cars, but I'm restoring two myself, if it's an XT , then of course it should have webbing on the front wishbones, (more than the first car, but less webbing than the later cars ?)
I have one shell not for sale , maybe it's time somebody did a re-issue, drop Kamtec an e-mail and he might do a batch ? maybe ask Richard first - I love the look of the first Pred - pure racer through and through.
It's mainly the prop that needs changing - I need one too lol
The front wing should read 'Tenth Technology'
I'm amazed there are still orange wheels around NIP , wish I could buy them, but I just bought a house , doh !
Good luck with the resto Graham !
