why not try removing the current mounts from the gearbox tops and machining some parts to mount onto the chassis? it would be alot cheaper than machining a gearbox top! quite simple as well. Yeh the chassis might take a bit more pressure in some parts but if the parts are mounted in the correct position and with the correct screws/glue it could work a treat. You could even brace between both sides, making the chassis stiffer, not that it needs to be. Something for you lot to think about.

You've gor a point there! first problem I can think of is screwing the part to the chassis without the 'mount' piece. (the one that cover the diff)

Good idea, alignment would be a challenge, but maybe worth it?

Good idea, alignment would be a challenge, but maybe worth it? if it is machined correct and screwed to the chassis with the 2 screws needed now, there would be no problem. I think we need to know where to split the gbtop .... we've got plenty to experiment on ;D tomorrow I'll screw my gb top to one of my spare chassis and take a look

new ideas !!! yellow = not needed, I'm still wondering what the point is of that piece.... red = fill up points bearing will sit higher so the lug wille be stronger and the hole for the bearing won't be in the stress area. this is my idea when milling, next pictures is my idea of where to cut the gbtop. It wil will need some extra 'paint' stuff but it's a start, tell me what you think please

Hi all Haven't had any problems with the front gearbox in testing yet. But I'm listening, and it sounds like more strength is desired. I generally find that problems are easy to solve, if the EXACT problem can be identified. If any of you have a broken front gearbox top available, please send me all of the bits that you have, then I will design and make an improved or upgrade part. TTech Racing will be moving to its own larger premises over the next 2 weeks. The new address is TTech Racing Whitewall Centre Whitewall Road Strood Rochester Kent ME2 4DZ Thanks for your input everyone. I hope that you can send me those bits soon. Best regards Richard Weatherley

Whatever you've got will be helpful. Richard would like to look at the stress fracture points. Thanks Northy.
