Well, finally I have got hold of a copy of possibly the most contested X10 review of them both! Pete Steers, visited us, asked us quite a few questions, promised us all sorts in return for our help, and then the review came, and he had a rough ride! For those who haven't seen it, it can be found here. www.the-pred.co.uk/images/articles/reviews/x10.pdfI am going to contact him, and ask him to pop by and give us an update on his long term test!

it doesn't look that 'bad' , I guess it has just been misunderstood by some **** americans Can you tell me how my shocks are built incorrectly? It's amazing that I can be insulted for writing a review that was far from negative. Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'm waiting for my long-term test to be reviewed by my editor, and when it is, I'll post it here and at the RC Car action forums. Also, the wheel drive discs are installed exactly how they are in the manual - with the stepped portion coming in contact with the wheel's inner surface. Should they be flipped around?

I think one of the white plastic shock bushes is on the wrong way round on the rear which can mean the bit sticking out of the shock clips can rub on the spring on the other.
You are correct about the wheel drive disks, they are on correct as per manual but I believe some people may be running them the other way round to make the car wider.
If you need any help with anything just give me a shout.

Oh, I see. I never had a problem with the shock clips rubbing or interfering, so I never saw a need to flip the bushing around. Thanks!

Must admit, i have my shock bushings the same way round as those in the review pics. Doesn't seem to be a problem.
I personally think it's a fair review. Looks honest and i don't think you can fault that. There are too many reviews done these days that are positive regardless.

it doesn't look that 'bad' , I guess it has just been misunderstood by some **** americans Coops - I hadn' read that bit of your post before.....I think it's a little unfair tbh. Pete - have read your review, and I think given the setup options you had, and the setup information, it's a fair review. As I said in my e:mail to you, I am much more interested in your long term review. It would be good to get another american perspective on the car, that isn't linked to the distribuition organisation. Afterall, we all know how good it is on UK tracks, but is all the criticism levelled at the car before it actually got to the states fair?

With any car, I don't think anyone can fairly criticize anything without knowing all the facts. The predator is an excellent car, period. I don't think I judged the car in an unfair manner; I think you all would agree, and I thank you for that.
As for my long-term testing, I'm not sure if I can post anything until I get word from my editor that what I wrote was sufficient. If I don't hear back from him in the near future, I think I'll just post here what I've written and have him post his edited version at the Car Action forums.

Thats rich coming from you mundane belgiums, since when were you lot known for anything?. What i cant figure out is, what does his origin gotta do with anything? yet you have the ordasity to race an associated car and be on the RC10B4 website which is ofcourse american? Please can anyone help me with this mentality especially coming from an administrator? Chris, i know you said you dont want this forum turning out like Rcracechat, where everything you write has to conform to rules but having a forum moderated by a reckless person isnt good, what message does this forum send out to some of the people ive pointed out to this direction not to mention the X10? or what will people say bout it from other forums?

Hey guys, I just thought you should take a look at the track where I'll primarily be racing and testing new cars for the magazine. Here's the new outdoor facility at Wolcott Hobby and Raceway, with the new base of Red Clay all screened and steamrolled. I helped lay out the pipes and the jumps for the new layout, but we don't have any pictures of that up yet. The track will get bumpy with all the truggies and 1/8th scale buggies tearing it up, but it will hold together a lot longer than just traditional topsoil. Sadly, we ran out of clay to build the jumps with, so they'll be build out of the same material as the former track, just covered with soil mixed with portland cement to help keep their shape. The new layout is very similar to this one but with a few changes, like an angles center lane with a double-triple and a much longer triple-crossover in a slightly changed location as the one you see there. Also, a small view of the indoor track can be seen here.

Hi All First let me say that in my opinion the review on the X10 is a fair one, and kudos go to Psteers on that.Period. Secondly: please keep in mind that it is his report and not anyone else's, that is to say he built it and raced it and that's his take on the car. it isn't negative or positive it is a review/article, you can agree with it's findings or not, that's up to you. Thirdly:let me just say this about Coopers comment, and I'm not defending him, he is quite capable of doing that all by himself, but a while back the pred was getting a bit of a bashing on some of the US forums and we here at "pred-uk" tried to defend it as best we could. My point is : I think Cooper is still steaming from those guys ( most of them didn't even see the car in the "flesh" static or in action before opening their mouths & bad mouthing it.) I'm sure he didn't mean all yanks are ****(whatever that is). also, you're right as a moderator he should be more responsible & more P.C. , shame on you cooper, tsk tsk. I hope you understand that this "slip of the tong" by Cooper is not shared by all of us here, not by me at any rate. peace man.

All i gotta add is people should be mature and responsible enough to differantiate from what happened elsewhere to here, Why should pete or anyone for that matter get any flack from what some bozzo's said on another forum, deal with the culprits at the time, not taking it out on an innocent bistander - and of all people coop, you had to pick on a person that writes for a magazine, im sure Pete's not the type but if that were me, i wouldda pasted your name on the mag and give a quick mention how accomodating you are of people from certain part of the world, unlucky for you im not pete ..

Pete, your track looks awful!! Nahh seriously it looks awesome (previous track with the jumps) im sure the new one will be just as good. Could'nt you just get additional springs that you need for now rather than wait? if possible, so you can dial the car?. Only so that your driving experience of the X10 couldda been more enjoyable experience and before you did a write up on it? just some food for thought ;D
