I am in the middle of building my X10 and have gotten to the part where you mount the rear lower arms to the car. My problem is that the arms do not fall under their own weight when they are lifted and dropped, they just stay there. I tried using an xacto knife on the pin holes of the rear arm, to make the holes just a bit bigger, but that has not helped. I do not have a reamer that small, to clean out the holes in the arm a bit more. How can I fix this? or will it just loosen up with use?
Thanks Bye the way great car, saw one got to drive it, and bought myself a new one all in the same day. Needless to say I was hooked.

Hi rcdave, and welcome!
If the rear arms do not fall under their own weight, take a little bit of sandpaper, and saned the ends of the wishbone slightly. Just do it a bit at a time so that you do not get any slop.
you also need to make certain that the hinge pins that secure the wishbones to the car are dead straight, otherwise they can casue the wishbones to bind as well.
I am presuming that you have isolated the problem to the lower rear wishbones, having checked the upper wishbones for free movement, as if they are also tight, then the susupension would not fall under it's own weight.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have not finished building the rear arms yet, so their is no rear hub installed yet, just the upper and lower arms. I never thought that the arms might be touching the sides of the chassis, I thought the problem was that the pin was too tight in the arms. Will try your sanding trick and see if that stops the binding. Thanks again.

RCDAVE, You'll defo want to check out the Build Tips thread, if you have not already. Also, specifically in regards to the rear arms (front too, somewhat) ... Check out the Rear Lower Wishbone Pin Problem. That thread should help too. 'nuff said, MX4

I should never have taken the car out for a drive. Guy said he had to go back to his car to get something, do I want to try it. I said sure why not. I was used to driving my electric buggy on the track, and having it push like a pig in the corners. Not with this car. When the back end started to go loose, just gave it a bit more gas and it straightened right out. Going over the jumps, was a night and day difference. Needless to say I was hooked right then and there. Couldn't wait to order mine in, so bought the guy's spare car. It was a little more money than what I was planning on spending to get an electric stadium truck, but I figured for what you get, and how much happier I figured I would be, it was worth it. Besides they say you get what you pay for. I could have bought a 4 wheel drive buggy maybe a little cheaper if I bought a different brand, but I know I was buying quality and reliability. Can't wait to finish the car so I can take it out and play with it. Rcdave
