Any suggestions for tyres for dirt racing.
My next regional will be at Nene Valley raceway which is a new track, Pictures on Doughty apparently
So far i have been recommended losi studs or the evil step pin.

we're only allowed to use Losi studs or Losi big shot tires. It depends on how sticky the dirt is, But I like red compound Big Shot alot when the dirt doesn't stay sticked between the pins. Otherwise we would use studs. (we don't have an other choice...)

Got studs and step pins, wil report back when i am done racing tomorow
to stop the dirt sticking a light coat of oil works a treat - if you are allowed by relevant governing bodies.

Studs worked best.
Peanut oil is extracted by crushing peanuts in a press, like olive oil and is used as an alternative to sun flower oil for cooking, KFC tried it 10 years ago and had some issues with nut allergy sufferers and stopped the product trial. (me very sad)
Artificial lubricant oil is what i meant, WD40 works well on schumacher tyres on grass in the wet

and did some people run Losi Bigshot? We use that 80% of the time when racing dirt, more predictable. We only use studs in mud or when there is still alot of dry sand/dust on the track.

No one ran The big shot tyres, could not find anyone with stock do you have any rears spare? Have a 2wd regional there in a month.
I bought the last sets of studs in the shop, red rears silver fronts was the more balanced option.
dinner time for me later

Wayne, if its a little packed and damp ill stick with the studs, keeping the damping light helps (with me style of driving).
If and when it gets hard and loose very dry then id use the pins on soft compounds and again setting the damping that much softer but you'll just have to be a bit more smoother with the throttle.

Dinner going cold,
Won't be running 4wd there again this year so will have to wait and see.
Will try the soft compound spikes for 2wd though.
Thanks coop i will check the price on those tyres, anything for an edge

we use silver when it's still a bit dampy and red when you're starting to drive on the hard surface if you know what I try to tell
