I'm really struggling to get my transmission setup smooth. Every time I try screwing down the rear gearbox cover the 'smoothness' goes to hell resulting in a transmission that turns, but feels pretty rough and has resistance . I've tried the shims in either side, but any shims seem to make it worse. The best I can get it is without any shims. When I glued the main shaft I ensured it has a couple of mm's of float, so I don't think it's anything to do with that. The front gearbox seems fine. I can't see anything obvious in terms of burrs or moulding defects, etc. I could do with a few pointers, 'cause I don't see much point in building the rest of the kit up until the transmission is sorted. Over to you.. Al

Dear Al
Ian here from TTech Racing Please can you take of the gear box top and also take out the diff. With the X10 facing you and the front of the car pointing to you, in the chassis on the top left hand side of the gearbox there should be a tiny part of the chassis cut away this is easy to see. If you send me your e mail address to ian@ttechracing.com I can send you a pic of what it should look like if it is not on your chassis, you can send it back to me or do the mod yourself which is easy to do.
Hope this helps And I look forward to hearing from you

Yeah I had the same thing happin to me. but the fix is EZ. All you have to do is, on the chassis right under where the crown gear is in the front and back gearboxs put a little White-out or some maker that will rub off. tightin it down and turn the drive a bit. Pull it back apart and see where it is rubbing. Then take a grinding tool and take it down some. And it will be as smooth as ever!
Hope this helps you! Forrest
