Hi All, If you are thinking of kicking me I'm REALLY REALLY sorry for ANYTHING at all that I said to anyone that they have taken offensive. All I was trying to do was help some ones choice about tires, And I realize that I may have gone over the top doing that. I hope that you all will accept my apology.

Oh, look what you made me do folks, you made me put my global moderator hat on for a minute there, and delete posts! Come on guys, keep this forum friendly and keep it helpful. I will be watching the posts closely from this point onwards, for a while, and I won't take kindly to this forum becoming bogged down with arguements and bitchin' and the like. If I even THINK people are looking for a fight, they will be banned, and that is not something I want to do. I'm taking my hat off now! ;D

I have to agree with Itsik, The one way is mostly dependant on driving style and track. I have an old XK5 with no oneway, which drives on really tight lines, but on a high speed track, it hinders turn in I find. Anyhow, you don't need a one way, but you will need a slipper for dirt tracks - which by the way I found out that the XRS does NOT come with.

Article was in Radio Control Car Racer this month. Click below for compound guide for tyres www.rcracechat.com/vb/showthread.php?t=22794Chris Longs response is the one to read Pink mini spikes work quite well, but studs worked when the loose dirt brushed away and the ground turned to concrete, step pins worked best on the loose.

Cooper, might be to reduce turn in, as generally there is a lot at that track. If i remember correctly, i usually ran the one way fairly tight in my Cat there.

Well personally i wouldn't. I shall run the normal one way/brake on my Pred for the GP i expect. At least that's the plan!!! Have looked back through my notes, and it was a few years ago that i ran it very tight. In recent years i have been improving the car and have generally been running looser and looser.

and what front tires did you use? normal front mini pins with only 3 or 4 rows of pins left ?
I'm trying mini spikes as soon as I get the chance ...

Methinks I missed a doozy of a thread before Chris went all 'global admin' on it Since this isn't RaceChat and we are all open to sharing info, I'd encourage Radar (and others) to check out the 4WDRC.com forum ( www.eraprise.com/4wdrcbb/) ... specifically the "4WD General Discussions" section for some good info. For 'Cut-n-Shut' (splicing rear tires to make 4WD fronts) info , check out the following post <shameless-self-promotion>: eraprise.com/4wdrcbb/viewtopic.php?p=1743#1743As far as one-way's go ... it's a deep subject. I'm not sure if you've got the answer(s) you were looking for regarding one-ways ... If I get some time later, I'll start a new topic about'em. 'nuff said, MX4

cooper, diameter cut down, and 1 row out of teh middle. Just trying to work out what tyres to run this year, i have some sitting on my desk here that i have been cutting to see how they fit on the wheels. Not sorted it yet.
Full diameter tyres are horrible round there

Can be a lot of work. Yes, front and rear the same diameter. Width depends on wheels and grip. Last 2 years i cut 8 rows from diameter and 2 front middle for width, this year not sure. Want to run wider, but Pred wheels are narrow, so not sure.
