next weekend?
you're hopefull at least ;D
One thing before you start the build, is to read the build tips on here for the X10. The vast majority, if not of them will be applicable to your XRS as well.
The biggest thing you need is patience and time. Take your time and practice fit all of the parts. Especially the building of the centre shaft. that is THE most important part of the build.

my center shaft was allready built/ should i be worried. all i have had to is build the shaft pinions and place on end off shaft. should i have some play because it fits very snug and hardly any play( have to be force full to move shaft when inserted.

no, don't be worried It will have been done correctly by t.Tech.
There shoud be around 1mm of float, and no more. As long as there is some fore and aft movement you will be fine.

:)My son and I got our 2 XRS's last Thursday and I've just finished his, looks good in his choice of purple & silver. The biggest problem I had was with the servo, I was advised that we should run servo savers but theres very little room between the servo & chassis for a decent saver. I eventually mounted the servo on Tamiya TB Evo 5 servo posts which moved the servo closer to the centre of the chassis and gave twice as much room for the servo saver. I had a little trouble with the shocks as they are completely different to our Tamiya touring cars but got them nice & smooth in the end. I've fitted the alloy rockers to the front & I'm now going to order the alloy steering set as the stock one looks a bit fragile. Thats working on the basis that we're running Peak Vantage 12x1 motors and if we hit anything it will probably be quite hard! So one down with one to go!!

make sure that you order the carbon brace and also the insets otherwise you won't be able to fit it correctly on the XRS (this is what i did :

:)My sons XRS finished and ready for action , unfortunately the picture doesn't quite do it justice as it's actaully dark purple and silver. I'm 2/3rd the way through building mine externally it will be a different paint scheme, internally the same, Vega Factory Team esc's, Hitec 645 MG servo's, Peak Vantage 12x1 V2 motors, GP 3700 cells.

;D Very nice - good job, well done!
just noticed though - you don't have the preload springs on the rear shocks. Is this an ommision on your part, or are they not included in the kit....or have you put them on the front of the car by accident?
;D
I am really taken by the colours you know, so simple yet effective.
I had a B4 painted in silver and purple, and that looked very nice too. The BIG problem was this; when the car went into a shadowed area of the track, the silver and purple became the best camouflage I have ever seen, and the car was nigh on impossible to see!!!

:)Chris, The pre compression springs do not come with the XRS (having to buy 2 I couldn't afford 2 X10's) but they arrived today with the alloy steering sets, tuned spring kit & rear wing braces. I'm sure the more observant will have noticed 2 things, 1 I had slight problem witht the masking tape bleeding and I had to touch in the edge between the colours, 2 the wires look like spaghetti but have now been trimmed down to an absolute minimum length making it a lot, lot tidier. I don't think its the purple that will camouflage the car as much as Jonny probably burying it in the undergrowth! I'll bore everybody & post a pic of mine soon when its finished.

blimey i can't believe the pre-compression springs don't come with the XRS! They must only cost pennies to to purchase in large quantities, and they make such a big difference. ah well I had noticed the bleed around the bodyshell, but not being an expert painter myself, I wasn't going to comment It still looks good. Hey-ho - don't forget to post piccies of your car when it's done, and upload them into the gallery, so they can be displayed on the front page of the website!

"make sure that you order the carbon brace and also the insets otherwise you won't be able to fit it correctly on the XRS (this is what i did )" Read the above in this thread I'd like upgrade my steering, what are the carbon brace & insets. I can't see where they fit into the steering assembly

:)I ordered the alloy steering set for our 2 buggies and they came with a stainless steel cross link to replace the 'bent wire' stock one. Two alloy arms and two delrin (nylon/plastic?) inserts and two screws. The alloy arms are a direct replacement for the stock plastic ones, I screwed the ball joint to the arms whilst they were still in place in the ball connectors, fed the cross link through the chassis and screwed the steering shoulder screw to the alloy arm. I then turned the wheels in one direction and placed an insert in one end of the cross link, sandwiched this with the other end of the alloy arm. You then use the supplied screw and screw up through the cross link into the iinsert whilst you hold the insert with a pair of needle nose pliers. Repeat on the other side and your done. I think the carbon brace is standard on the X10 but when ordering the upgrade for the XRS you get the stainless version. If you go on the website find the part numbers individually you could buy it that way and get the carbon link, I wasn't that bothered about the weight saving so I ordered the XRS upgrade. Sounds harder than it is but IMHO its worth doing.

The carbon link was the original with the X10 and it was not manufactured correctly, so, it failed soon after it was installed in the car. However, it was replaced with the stainless steel version that has button head screws instead of counter sunk screws that came with the carbon link(in the kit). Somewhere down the line the X10 kit started to come with the stainless steel link and that was the end of it as far as I know.
