Hello I have just started building my Predator X10 and everything was going well until I got to the rear transmission. One of the rear Alloy Bearing Bushes were not manufactured correctly because I could not get the bearing to fit inside it. I tried geasing it to help push it in no go, I eventually had to grind it out a little bit and it still was almost impossible to get in, it started to fit then I had to squeeze it with pliers to fit it in... !!The other piece was fine as the bearing almost falls out of it by itself. So now on installation of these angled bearing bushes, the rear tranny is not smooth at all, the front is very smooth with the shaft, so obviously I am thinking this bearing bush was not manufactured correctly. What should I do? Purchase a new set of alloy bearing bushes and bearing (since I cant get that one out anymore) and try again and hope for the best? Can I send these back to TTech, I will contact them tomorrow. Editted: ---------- More evidence that the bearing bushes were not made correctly, I have 3 pictures showing how the rear tranny cover does not fit properly. Pic 1: Chassis and Rear Cover looks good! Pic 2: Left Pressure - notice gap! Pic 3: Right Pressure - notice gap! Thx.

send them back to T.Tech.
ring them first though, explain your problem, and point them in the direction of the pictures here. I am quite sure they will replace them for you without any problem.

Ok thanks, I will check with my Hobby shop first if he has a spare I'll try putting those in then perhaps send the defective ones to TTech.

Check that the rear diff gear isn't touching part of the moulding in the chassis or gearbox top. You may need to file away a little more plastic. This was the case for me, and mine looked exactly like your photo's. It was fine afterwards though.

UPDATE: I received replacement Alloy Bushes from my local hobby shop and of course the bearings fit perfectly - Yay Now as in the pictures above I am still having problems with the top gearbox cover to the bottom. ** I have tried assembly wtihout the rear diff in the car at all and just one empty alloy bush. I guess my question is what part would be best to file away at this point, I don't want to mess anything up here. Filing away the little corner where the diff sits is one thing filing away where the Alloy bushes sit is another. The reason for all this is because it is binding after tightening down the top/bottom. Is this normal or should it be perfectly flush like the top pic with no alloy bushes?

Smear a thin film of grease around the outer diameter of the diff crown gear. Assemble the gearbox and rotate the diff by hand to see if the grease is transfered onto the inside of either the gearbox top / chassis thus giving an indication of where the conflict might lie. Hope this helps.

Final Update:
Thanks for the tips. I've taken off as much material as I can in that corner.
I've bit the bullet here and decided to torque it down it seems to be moving fine, there is an odd feeling that sometimes it binds but just very little maybe I'm too sensitive.
I've assembled the Trannies and the rear wishbone area, so far the rest of the kit seems to be going well, disappointing that the Tranny assembly was so taxing.

If it still seems to bind even ever so slightly you might want to try backing off all four of the Diff covers screws about 1/2 to one full turn. I do this on mine and it releaves pressure and allows the diff to spin as free as possible!
