Been on another forum recently (not model car related) and they were holding a raffle for some goodies. And the way it was done was this:-
there was one prize, and they allotted a given number of tickets at £10 each to cover the cost of the prize, and the prize only. (they did not obviously appear to make any money out of it).
That got me thinking - let have a raffle for an X10 on this forum!
What I am going to do is to arrange a paypal raffle, and allocate 36 tickets to cover the cost of a car and postage to the lucky winner.
I will draw the winning ticket "live" on web cam so that you can be sure that there is no cheating taking place.
Here's the finer details:-
One Ticket costs £10.00. There will be a maximum of 36 tickets available.
One ticket = one entry
Each person buying a ticket will get an e:mail of their number, and the serial number (s) of their ticket (s), to limit the chance of cheating.
Those buying tickets will have their ticket number and name displayed on the forum, in the Raffle section.
There is a maximum limit of 36 (obviously) to the amount of tickets one person can buy.
I have chosen to use paypal for ease of payment, and the fact that if not enough tickets are sold, I can refund those that have bought tickets.
I will not, nor will any of my family, buy tickets. (incase we win!)
There will be only one prize, and there will be no runners up prizes
Only members of the forum will be allowed to buy tickets
The raffle will run until either all of the tickets are sold or until 31st January. If there are not sufficient tickets sold to cover the cost of the raffle, then all monies will be refunded via paypal.
If the paypal refund incurs a small charge against your original payment, then what paypal pay you is the money you will get back. I will not "make-up" the difference.
The car will be dispatched on the first available working day after the draw, and it will go via insured, "signed for" post. the winner will be notified of the tracking number.
By buying a ticket you agree to all of the above!
