I don't think so. Lets get this board moving. It's far too quite around here. I'll start by telling you guys that my old home track is gone . However a new site has been obtained from the municipality by a few of the guys (my thanks goes out to them), work on the site should begin soon probably this week end. We hadn't had a good 4wd heat for a few months now & I'm itching for a good scrap. Now that I have the lighter chassis & rockers on the car I'm even more impatient than usual. When does the season start in the UK? do you practice off season? I drive touring cars (and soon an F1 car)(I know cooper is going to have a ball with this, yes cooper I drive touring cars, there I said it LoL) while the off road season is out of commission for the reason stated above. come to think of it we hardly stop running the 2wd, 4wd & trucks. Any of you guys run 1/5 scale (FG or similar) on road, the reason I ask is, there is a new track that opened over here that has a very long on road track with very good quality tarmac (nice & grippy) which they use for 1/5 scale cars (FG only at the moment). I thought about getting into it but the kit is very expensive. I drove one of the FG touring cars, it went OK but it's not quite as fast as I thought it would be(not faster than a 1/10 car, but easier to drive) it felt sluggish (it weighs 12kg) 2 brake disks up front & 1 in the rear (cable or hydraulic operated) .

There's a bit of a break in the North East racing at the moment so I haven't raced my Pred for a few weeks. I did however buy an 1/8th RallyX on Saturday and raced it on Sunday! was great fun ;D The 1/5th scales were running, and looked a bit crap G

I used to have an 1/8th scale rallycrosser. 'twas a GS Storm. much fun was had with it,, but i only ever raced it once, 'cos i couldn't find a pit man to refuel for me!
I would much rather race those than electric - far cheaper to run once you have bought them!

:)Chris where do you get " far cheaper to run" ?, we had GS Storms and with fuel at £35.00 for 5 litres I didn't think they were particularly cheap to run. d**n good fun though and with the extra size and weight they handled brilliantly as well. Being from the era of anything on two wheels being two stroke I love the sound of those little screamers and the smell, but hated the frequent tuning. I also had an 1/5 FG Marder Race which was great fun as well but not as much fun as the GS. Best part about it was that you ran for 40-45 mins filled up & went again. Bigboss, I think you'll find a) It's a combination of the 1/5 scale not being quite as fast as you'd imagine and a perceptual thing in that they look slower due to their larger size. b) as the famous quote goes when asked 'how fast a car could be made to go' the reply is, 'how deep are your pockets?'. There are big bore motors, reed induction kits, different carbs, all round hydraulic brakes to make it stop as quick as it goes, endless alloy hop ups. Be warned you can spend very large sums of money if you WANT to, but you don't HAVE to.
