I was reading the X10 manual and noticed that long ball joints were used on the front shocks, on the previous cars it were short ones, to have correct droop. Is this difference now integrated in the (shorter?) rockers? maybe this is what makes the X10 steering so different ?

I have just finished installing the front shocks. There seemes to be another 4mm of droop that I am not getting. What I mean is, the rocker pivot stops on the rear, inside part of the upper, front wishbone. When I attach the front shock to the rocker pivot, I have to squeeze the shock about 4mm to line up the ball joint with the rocker pivot hole.
I could not tell if there are different ball joint lengths. A shorter ball joint might alleviate this problem. All of the ball joints that are in my kit look to be the same size.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Let me know if I explained it well enough.

i have read your post a couple of times, and I think I know what you mean now....
It sounds to me that you need to put a washer underneath the rockers to lift them slightly above the top of the wishbone. This will get round that problem, I think.
Hope This Helps

Have you got the rockers on the right way round? They are handed.

Hi Guys,
I checked, and tripled checked the rocker pivots. It almost seems that the shock length is too long. Anybody have a completed front shock handy and could take a measurement from eyelet to eyelet? That would be great. Or even a measurement of the Ball cups short and long?
Sorry to jack your thread, Cooper. I have read these forums completely at least three times now. I hope we as a Predator commmunity can get together here and load it up with information.

Papa,
There is only one length of ball joint end on the X10. I'll measure a front shock for you after I've eaten my tea! ;D

Overall length of my front shocks is 76.8mm.
Centre to centre of each mounting hole (roughly) is 68mm.
Hope that helps,
G
