Let me know how you get on fitting and running this in the pred as I was thinking about one of these for mine.

Im curious, have you got any cogging effect on that system?. I believe that mumba is sensorless system which is what my modeltech BL system was and it cogged like hell!! Perhaps it wont be so evident now as the technology has gotten better since and with the battery power available should reduce that effect.

I'm giving my X10 it's first brushless outing on sunday. Nosram have very kindly sent a new matrix evolution '07 edition, using a 6.5 motor (equivalent of a 9 turn). So I shall also give you a report back if you like... sorry to hijack your thread alfonzo! It looks lovely in the car, even with all those multi coloured wires! Yardy

I'm pretty excited about this Brushless malarky. That and Lipo's are really pushing the sport forward, and I think it can only be a good thing really. Skimming Comms?? Pfffff..Life's too short ;D
I dare say it'll be a while before the technology 'beds in'. I look forward to hearing how you get on Tom.
Regards
Al

Alright guys. What a day! I'll not go into detail but basically, in 4 qualifying runs and a timed practice i completed about 15 laps in total! finished 5 mins just once! BUT NOT ALL TO DO WITH MY BRUSHLESS! ;D Had a mare as regards electrical gear, my car kept stopping, as if someone had flicked the switch, no steering or throttle. We believe its a servo FET wire issue now... but during the day we just had failure after failure, switched receivers, tried brushed, just no luck... The only brushless issue we had was that early this mornin, racing through standing water on the astroturf track, caused the sensor wire going into the motor to get a bit wet which caused the throttle to stutter. It got wet because the vent hole in the shell on the right let the water splash onto the sensor wire, so we taped that up and it was ok after, but it may be something you want to consider when using a sensored system in the VERY wet. So anyway, when it was moving, the brushless was pretty good. Nice and smooth, unfortunately, with all the other electrics playing up, we didnt have chance to play with settings, next time I would like to try the initial brake and the drag brake settings turned down a bit more, to level 1, rather than the 2 we had them on today. Didnt get the pred running too well either as we were playing about with trying to make it go and not adjusting the set up! I tried a different rear wing today, used a trinity reflex one on the rear, and it made the car jump really nicely, and the grip was good too, that was one thing we learnt today at least. So a total bummer of a day, came home before the finals to watch Man Utd draw with Chelsea... as a man u fan I have mixed feelings but that's not for here! haha Catch you soon guys! Tom Y.

Bummer Tom, I really do feel (after using brushless for a while now) that there is more to be gained by adapting to the way a brushless drives than playing with settings to make it feel like a brushed. I too have turned down the brake settings and really like how you can carry the speed through corners without the 'handbrake' effect of lifting off. Stick with it Tom. G
