Hi there, raced the car today and in the last couple of races its gearbox was graunching everytime it landed off a jump, Just had it all to bits and found the centre shaft is loose in the slipper assembly, All the gearbox gears seem ok but if the shaft has come loose and allowed more end float possibly I think this could be the problem. As it is an XRS it all came assembled can someone let me know the correct glue and procedure to fix it back together.
Cheers Allan

Hey Allen No biggie, All you have to do is go here: www.the-pred.co.uk/ ... go to downloads ... manuals ... X10. A pdf file will open, go to page 5 it gives you an explanation of what to do. Make sure you clean as much of the old glue off the shaft & metal parts first. 5 min Epoxy glue (2 tubes). If you look at the beginning of the manual it says just that. Very important : make sure you have the 1-2 mm end float, this is imperative to the build of the gear train. slow down, rushing such a job is not a good idea, take your time & you'll get it right. Lots of luck M8.

Cheers Big boss downloaded the manual and can see how its setup, I think its definately caused the gear slippage problem as there was a lot more play than 1-2mm. I am I right in thinking epoxy resin is like/is Araldite.

:(Hi Peeps, Raced today and unfortunately my son stripped his spur gear, I suppose it had to happen sometime, question is do I have to unglue the prop shaft to replace the spur? I looked at the manual but as is the way with Ttech manuals there not particularly helpful.

no need to unglue the centre shaft....
take the rear gearbox top off and carefully remove the entire centre shaft from the front gearbox - no need to dismantle the fron end, and when you have the centre shaft out of the car, you can undo the slipper nut completely, and the spur gear can easily be removed.
it's no more than a 10-15 minute job.
(you can remove the rear gearbox & suspension virtually in one peice if you look carefully!)

:)Chris, Thanks for that, thats the price you pay for buying your buggy with the transmission pre built, you don't know how it comes apart! If I'd known it was only a short job I could have got him back racing, Doh.........
