After few calculations, if it's an "inches spanner", I think it's 5/16. As the housing is approx 7.9mm ==> 5/16 x 25.4 = 7.93 it matches!!!

Which seal housing? The only non-metric nut I can think of is the slipper clutch one..?

The seal housings of shock absorbers. The width of the flats to screw them is approx 7.9mm so wrenches in mm are not compatible with.... You can screw them with a pincer, but after several unscrew/screw, it damages the housing. I had the information by myself, 7.9mm corresponds to a 5/16" open ended spanner!! It's a good tip to do the screwing as well as possible. I will buy one!!
