Ive been reading a thread on another forum with regards the new MX speedo that is due for release, i was just wondering if anyone here has seen it or already got one?. Off all the speedo's available on the market theres always something about MRT speedo's that i love, ive still got some of their old ESC and their just so good ive not got anything else from then on. But i am raring to get a couple of MX's, Any opinions?

i saw a prototype at Batley back in January, and it was very small and very punchy. VERY punchy, but it blew up. Thats OK for a prototype I suppose, but of late, a number of MRT speedo's have been failing at the club, and not been right when they are returned from repair...
but apart from that the VX seems quite good. I have been on the mailing list and put my name down for a new one at a discounted price, but for some reason, I haven't heard anything from them....

Chris, ive got the models previous to the VX, i may get a couple of those maybe. But what have been the issues with the VX's? and what does'nt seem right after being repaired? If its bad i may reconsider and just wait for the MX's, have'nt they even started rolling those yet?

with the VX's after repair, the thermal cut off's seem more "keen" and they have been resetting themselves during a race, and not necessarily after a crash. It's happened just driving down the straight! But having said that, if the VX's are a good price I would buy them any day of the week. The ones I have seen previously are always very good.

Crappy doodle dandy, after a year since first talked about and supposed release. I think MRT are supposedly almost ready to ship the new MX's. i think they hold the trophy in delays of all delays, more than Ttech. lol I gotta get myself some of these ;D ;D

just been running my MX this weekend in the X10, and it's a bloody superb esc. comes off a little warm, but it's as punchy as anything, and the brakes are stupidly good. It's the first speedo that I have ever had to make a 4wd wheelie from the start line! (OK the slipper was a little tight!)
I will be selling my Novax GTX to fund another MX speedo for my 2wd car....

So come on Chris, why should I buy an MX? Sell it to me! How much are they by the way?
Have you got a picture of it in your car?
Cheers

why get an MX? You shouldn't, you should buy my GTX. ;D The Mx is small, very small and very light. the brakes are phenomenal, and the punch settings range from mild to ridiculous. I use something in between, and I still get the car wheelieing over the jump at southport, (well I did on sunday, as we had to accelerate on to it from a sharp right hander!) they are very, very good and I like them a lot. the two bestist things (well three) are: 1) it's british 2) it's waterproof 3) it's cheap. £99 for an MX Pro.... just look at the pictures..... www.the-pred.co.uk's X10......need some stickers, I think. Must get them printed, but they are expensive!

Cheers Chris, The speedo does look nice, I think I'll drop them an email and see if they want any more team drivers! ;D You've got a strange layout for the wiring in your car, why not turn the cells round to shorten the wires? Also your motor mount is black, I want one! Mine's silver

the wiring is a little "odd", but I wanted to keep the plugs on the left handside of my Losi (looking from the rear) as that's how the wires on the GTX are cut to just fit that.
As much as I like My X10, I can't see it becoming my main car, as I prefer 2wd...but right now the X10 is the champ!
(and the wires are barely more than 5cm long as it is!

OMG.. CHris, that just looks sick. Was really hoping to have gotten mine by now but the release date of the MX was on during the time of the "BIG MOVE" and so i really didnt have any time to have done anything now reflecting on it i wish i had gotten it one way or another, no worries ive only got another 4 months before i get my hands on them when i get back to shore . How does this speedo compare to anything else on the market and to previous MRT speedo's?

The MX does not feel as though it has the ludicrous power of the old v-trac, but that power was not useable!
however, it is certainly better in my opinion, to the Novax GTX, my "old" speedo. It is more responsive, has better brakes and "feels" more punchy. (The GTX was incredibly smooth). I have not played with the other profiles, it is currently on the middle setting for modifieds. I like my motors/speedo's to feel as though they are doing something. I am not happy with the smoother power bands of some speedo's as like my thumbs to do the smoothing out of acceleration, not the electronics.
Don't know what it will be like in the 2wd, I will let you know when my new one arrives.
