The MX does not feel as though it has the ludicrous power of the old v-trac, but that power was not useable! however, it is certainly better in my opinion, to the Novax GTX, my "old" speedo. It is more responsive, has better brakes and "feels" more punchy. (The GTX was incredibly smooth). I have not played with the other profiles, it is currently on the middle setting for modifieds. I like my motors/speedo's to feel as though they are doing something. I am not happy with the smoother power bands of some speedo's as like my thumbs to do the smoothing out of acceleration, not the electronics. Don't know what it will be like in the 2wd, I will let you know when my new one arrives. So Chris, is there anything currently to better the MX at present, got a few spare vtracs or still go for a couple of MX's?. Gonna do me final shoping before shooting off

hmm.....
first thoughts on the MRT were that it is indeed a very, very good speedo.
BUT having had two go pop on me one for no apparent reason and one died after getting interference, i have invested in two Quantum 2's. I still have an MRT MX installed in Tom's Yoke, though.
As it happens, I have a brand new MRT speedo, never installed, let alone used that I cuold be persuaded to part with.....
But these are just my opinion based upon my experience with the MRT MX speedo

So Chris, any regrets in getting the Quantums & how do they compare to the speedo's you've had in the past, of all the speedo's which of rates highly in your opinion?

regrets about getting the quantums? no whatsoever.
absolutely non whatsover. I have had most makes of Speedo now, novaks, m-troniks, Lrp, MRT..... and with the exception of the m-troniks RZ, the lrp's are in my opinion, possibly the punchiest out there.
I would not hesitate to buy another LRP, but i wouldn't buy another mtroniks, or another novak (although my novak cyclone remains the most consistent novak I hav had!) and i doubt I would buy another MRT either.
There is nothing wrong with the performance of the MRT, they are punchy, have good brakes etc., nut in my experience, they seem to expire too easily.
I would not hesitate to recommend an LRP Qunatum 1 or 2 to anybody, and probably a 3, but I have not had one yet.

Interesting what you are saying there Chris, I have always used mrt speedos and never had one go pop (touch wood) my racing companion has always used lrp since i have known him, yet he had 3 quantum 2 speedos go pop last year......
although the old lrp 7.1 speedo's are worth there weight in gold if you can get hold of them
my point is though could you pm me with a price for your mx speedo?

It is indeed most strange, i agree.
I have known people to have no problems whatsoever with their MRT's (hence me buying one) and then others who have had all sorts of spurios problems with theirs. BUT the ones who have had problems with their speedo's all had one thing in common - ebay. So I put it down to abuse by the previous owner.
But, with the exception of one Quantum being plugged in the wrong way round, I have not yet (touch wood) seen any LRP Quantum's going pop.
You have a PM by the way.

With the LRP's with the exception of Novak being the only choice here, it looks like its going to be the LRP's. After driving and testing a xx-4 with a Q2 i was well impressed and i love the punch..

I've heard about Ebay ESC's going pop for no reason, so I'll throw my 2p worth in here: I have bought a few ESC's on Ebay [Qc2(1), gtx(2), keyence(1)] all of which work and most are still in use. I suppose it's the luck of the draw really. the X-10 is now running gtb 5.5 but before that it had a QC2(with heatsink kit) and was a joy to run, but the motor got very hot even with two mini fans cooling it down. later

I believe everyone has loyalties to brands they have used, and this is no bad thing. My local store is the home of some helger (losi/lrp) team drivers who recommend little else. I have found from my own experiance and that of the others who i race with one brand seems to self destruct quite often and as their esc's have got smaller they have become more prone to this. The other major issue is the very low bec current of this brand reducing servo transit speed and on odd occasions reducing the effectiveness of the receiver. I will stick to my MRT controllers and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new esc for this year.
