Hi Big Boss, I have a Mamba Max system...but haven't fitted it yet! I aim to do it in the next few weeks. I think it will sit on a carbon fibre plate that extends from the servo across over the centre shaft. It would be lovely to fit it on the chassis bed, but it won't without major upheaval. A shame, as it does raise the C of G somewhat. Hopefully compensated by performance

Hi right back at ya. I got one too but I have not tried/tested it yet. All we are getting at the moment is rain, Plus I went & mounted the thing in my new T2 007 tourer, If I can thermal it in mid winter by over gearing it to the hilt, It ain't going into the pred. I looked at the XRS review and some bright spark worked it out that by moving the servo to wards the rear of the chassis will give you enough room to mount the Mamba Max & then went ahead & did just that! imagine that, Ha. My compliments go to that guy, got to give credit where credit is due. Alfonzo have a look here www.gaz-on.net/TTech-Racing-Predator-XRS-2nde sort of "Ask & ye shall receive" isn't it?

Yeah, that's pretty neat. I think I commented so much in that thread. I think that's how I'm going to try mine. The only bit that requires serious attention is producing the curvy steering link - but I'm confident I can achieve this. Credit where due indeed.

Hi All Just an update on the Mamba Max motor & ESC. I tried it today in a Losi MF2 truck over geared of course, to see if it will thermal. Ran 6 packs (4200's) & although it, came off very hot, no problems with shut downs, quite a nice smooth system, I think it will do well in my pred if geared properly. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Big Boss, Any progress with the Mamba in the Pred? I had a look at mine last night and am struggling to see how they fitted the servo and speedo next to each other on the chassis. I really don't want to chop the arms off my new digitial servo The only thought I've had is to remove the battery post and rely on the remaining three with a custom routed carbon fibre 'all in one' battery strap to hold the cells in position. I must admit I only spent a short time thinking about it, so maybe I've missed something obvious? Cheers Al

No progress yet as I have been under the weather lately (cough). But soon, I promise. I still want to give it a bit more stick before I shove it in the Pred, this time geared properly. As for the suggestion to do away with the batt post..... I wouldn't even think about it, think of what could go wrong if the batt would slide out of the brace you were talking about: batt shorting on the steering link, or rub the carbon shaft. from a monetary stand point it would be wiser to chop the ears of the servo case (about 6-10 bucks to replace) a no brainer really. Didn't even realise you could replace the servo case TBH!! Maybe you're right. Mind you, I think my all in one strap would work off three posts as the stiffness of the carbon fibre would do the job & the Lipo cells I have in mind can't short out anyway.
But yes, chopping the ears off the servo would be the easiest route ;D

no......
three posts will not be enough to hold the cells in position - just think about the forces excerted throughout the car as it lands from jumps, races round corners and crashes!
The cells would move out so very easily!

I don't think you guys are in the UK, but the Mamba max system will require a lot of changes/redesign to be BRCA legal.
