Well, lets start the ball rolling so to speak.
In the "good" old days, when we all ran Reedy Red Dots (17 doubles I think?) and thought they were quick, with 1400 or 1700 matched cells, the fact that they were matched at all was important.
But now, we have 3700 cells with us that are still matched, but are not using their full charge capacity during a race, I started to wonder if the cell marching process was still as important as it used to be.
The only real benefit I can see, as a club racer, is the fact that cell matching would weed out any dead cells before they made it into a buggy, but what other advantages are there?

I think they need to be quite well matched so that you don't over / undercharge them. Under charging won't do any damage, but if one or more cells in the pack is over charged each time it will damage it.
Same goes for discharging, if one or more cells goes to zero volts (or negative) before the others it will get damaged.

What cells are you guys using and what are the more popular ones trackside?.. I will be going back to racing very soon and just a good job i got some 3000-3300 to fall back on while i get into the groove (so to speak) but what have been the underlying differences bout the 3700 except ofcourse the numbers? any recommendations?

at our local club, many of the drivers are still running 33's, but the power mad are going for 37's.
There is a definate advantage in top speed and punch with the 37's over the 33's. I am not sure of the makes of cells they are running though.
Me, I still run 33's in the 2wd, but once I get the pred, I am going to invest in some Vega 37's too.

I just invested in some hardly used ex-team Reedy 3300's for this last season, and last time I saw them the Reedy team drivers (that I know) were still using 3300's and thought this would also be the case at the Euros's.
I can't remember the last time my car dumped.
