Hello peeps, long time no - See. - Rants. - Mumbo jumbo. - rc chatting. ;D ;D. How have you all been?. All doing well with the X10's i hope .. As for me, i accidently re-kindled my passion for karting after going on one with my little boy at a theme park - karting. And so when i got home that same night, i looked for go karting facilities round california and to my delight there were a few, only it were a couple of hours drive. And so the following day i drove to the nearest one .. I walked to the track and every step i took i can feel my heart pumping harder and harder. Pure adrenalin has well and truly taken over and so without a further a do i registered, paid my fee and put on the racing suit and helmet. Was so surreal that i was sitting behind a go kart wheel and the excitement level was out of proportion. After the first practice lap i was what i would describe "In heaven" it was fast and it was fast. I had 5 other racers with me on the track and these were juniors (12-16yrs old) I got past them all but one and he was a pro, this kid lapped me once. I was laughing by the time the chequered flag started waving at the end of the 10mins race. It was pure exhiliration and couldnt think of the last time i did anything by myself (without the family) that was this fun. I am thinking of taking this up seriously as i have means of doing it. The karts were in the region of doing 60mph. Wow!! I have to admit it is rather expensive but just something i could never afford before but times have changed somewhat and so im thinking of taking it up as a sport/hobby. Have any of you guys done any karting? and wasnt it fun? ps, a couple of pics of where i was acting like a little kid ;D and no the pics arent mine but is a part of their website. Layout of the track: It boasts 3/4 mile in length, and so its fairly huge. Track is called Adams kart track.

I knew it had been quiet around here....just couldn't think why Last time I went go-karting, I set the fastest lap of the weekend by a mere 5 seconds. That was at an indoor track in Burscough, near to my house. the time before that, I went go-karting in Warington, and was 1/10th of a second behind the lap record for that track, which was set by a professional! Love karting, absolutely adore it - but its soooo expensive to do. The other thinkg I like about karting, is when the instructors say something daft like "you can't overtake on that corner, it's too slow/too fast/too tight..." when they say that, it becomes my mission to overtake there, 'cos it obviously can be done!

I HATE YOU CHRIS!!!..... Hahhaha ;D How you doing m8? Its good to know someone here appreciates the thrill's of go karting and im wildly impressed by your manly and rebellious attitude. We share similar patterns although i think you sound more insane than i do because you make it a mission, and so for you its "i have to do this". Whilst for me it'll be "hmm ok lets see if we can do it". I was shocked to find how tiresome and sweaty it can be after doing a 10min race. I think i only scratched the surface which pales in comparison to a full blown F1 driver(s). My hands and arms were numb, or maybe because i was holding the wheel too tight. I cant make the same claims you made Chris, about getting lightning quick lap times but my name did feature in the top 20 drivers of the week. I think as soon as one gets the hang of racing lines and the car dynamics it becomes an important matter of whether you have both the stamina in physical and mental. The mental thing isnt so hard, since your mind easily sucks things up when you are enjoying or have that happy feeling about what your doing, it became apparent to me that after 10mins of racing my lap times wouldve slowed due to the physical effect of racing. So judging by how the man who is looking back at me in the mirror, i think he needs to loose weight and get those blood archeries (typo?) unblocked to allow the blood in circulation 100%. In short, you need to be physically fit!! But yes, enjoy it?. With passion, i do!! Here are some cool vids on karting. www.youtube.com/results?search_type=related&search_query=kart%20racing%20race&search_sort=relevance&search_category=0&page=1In this next clip is the actual race track of Adams Karting (where i go race) although it shows men on mini motor bikes, they do cater for both these and the Kart racing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbHlfahiKqE&mode=related&search=And guys, what would a library of videos be if it didnt have the Legendary Ayrton Senna showing people his roots, of how it all came about and started... Classic.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_lZSZRl3vM&search=kart%20racing%20raceThose Japs and their funny enthusiams never fails to crack me up. I was in stitches... Hahaha

OMG, that Kart with 950cc engine just looks sick, doesnt it? lol I think an insane speed demon like you Chris can drive such a thing eh? Im glad all is well with you, if you and the missus plan to come to CA in the following year is still solid and given the fact you love kart racing then could i suggest you save your all powerful pound and save it so i can own your ass at the karting tracks? ;D lol.. For a 10min stint (the works) is $25 and at certain times it goes down to only $20 which is about £12 thereabouts? And forget about indoor slippery floor crap, here its 100% tarmac and 90'F surface temperature, so the grip is just about right. It may proove expensive in the uk but i guarantee the us will be as or more rewarding for you. So start saving buddy ... Its currently 1.30pm at the moment and as much as you will hate me for mentioning this but i am now going to drive over to do a bit of karting fun and ill try to get photos for you to drew over in envy, hahaha.. But thats to only to get you say ur ££'s so we can go racing one day?... See yaa latas.

I've always wondered if you can 'tune' much in a kart, like castor, camber, Toe-in stuff... can you compare it with an 1:12 RC car? (just for seting up I mean) and eeuh Chris, look like you're better in a kart than an RC car ;D I'd also love to do some karting sometime.... but no money to do it regulary, and most stuff is slippery indoor

Hey Coop, how you doing? I cant make a good comparison without me sounding like a fool who doesnt know what he's talking about ;D. Reason being is that i dont have a clue when it comes to 1/12th scales, secondly im no expert on the karts neither but ive read somewhere that you can fiddle about with the: - Toe in/out. - Ride hight. - Track Width of fronts & rears. - Tyre pressures. If you fancy a little more technical data then here are some good basic fundamentals. morris-racing.com/kartingmalaysia/kart-setup.phpSoz Chris, didnt get any photos as i couldnt bring a family member to capture me whilst on the race track but im hoping by providing you a link on my race result it'll make it a little more believable. Though i have to say, they fuked my first race result today where i came 2nd - but i lost to a local who made up 4-6 seconds gap between us (this guy was good) as hard i tried to catch him, i simply could'nt do more,BUT today was the first time i ran on the full race track layout and the guy who beat me - compared notes and data and pointed out the one place i was not making enough effort and that was the long right turn at the end of the long back straight. When he told me he was going flat out my jaw just dropped . There were 5 of us in the first race, it got kindda hairy at the start, cars were all wheel to wheel until 3rd lap when me and the leader started to pull away. I was a little pissed when the organiser forgot to click his computer that the race had started. What a lovely bloke he is eh? ... The 2nd race i fared a little better (i think) and i drove more agressive but in calculative manner and i did as the guy told me, which was to go more or less flatout at the end of the backstraight. I was lucky to have pole position and started a quick getaway and built up something like 13sec lead at the finish line but the pro racer wasnt in this one and so i couldnt really make a comparison if whether i improved or not and since the first race race result was screwed, there was just no way of determining. I did however feature in the top 15 of best laps of the week. My best lap being 60.87 though track record is at 56.05 and so i was still way out but then there are few hundreds of people who race at this track on a regular basis so i wasnt at all too disappointed. My avg lap times was at 66.96 ;D accomplishing 12laps. Im not too sure if the link to todays race result will work here and so if it doesnt then let me know and ill try something else.. Fingers croosed ;D.. scores.oskarsystems.com/akt/Race.aspx?RaceId=9843&Center=aktIf all else works, then you could see the more recent race results to date that i have attended the earlier ones have somewhat gone ... It will say on there if half/full track was used and so if one of you does a back to back comparision with times at least you wont have to try and work out on the earlier meetings i attended why the laps were quicker ... I hope that made sense

Probably, but the last thing that goes into my mind are trophies (trophies being women). And look at all those succesful karters in the past and how they used this platform to catapault their career into F1. Does one need to look far to see nice cute women in racing?. Does that cryptically answer your question coop? You have too much testesterone at the moment and so its understandable, heh ;D
