In the lastest RC Driver magazine, in the review of the X10, they say that there will be a cheaper version of the X10, the XRS. It also says that all X10 parts will fit. I might be missing the point here, but I don't see the point of a cheaper version of the X10. The x10 is a performance racing car, not a "basher" and if a cheaper version is produced, I assume that cheaper components will be used, made out of cheaper materials. Will this not reduce the performance aspect of the car, and put it in the hands of those that will buy the car, throw it together like they would losi or associated, and then complain when it fails during a race and generate a lot of negativity around the car? I am all for selling more units of the X10, but I don't think the way to do that is to reduce the specification and create a "lo-brid" example of it. I'm probably very wrong in all of that, but being wrong has never stopped me voicing my opinion before, so I don't see why I should stop now! ;D I think that T.Tech should concentrate on evolving the X10 still further, and get a 2wd on the track in the next 12 months or so.

I think a less expensive, not necessarily cheaper version of the X10 may work. If you look at companies like AE or LOSI, they offer "team" versions and "factory team" versions. Both are very compeititive, but the team versions don't have graphite moulded bits or titanium rods. So, if this means that an X10 will have plastic or resin parts, instead of graphite (which are more bendy anyhow) and fibreglass shock towers (black of course) and steel turnbuckles, with a price drop of $100.00 or more, then I think that this will work. It is still a very competant & competitive machine to race, and may(with the plastic bits?) be better suited to some tracks. Thats my .02 cents.

Assuming it's a cut down X10 - I hope it doesn't de-value my recent significant purchase

Maybe they've been listening to your prayers Coop The XRS ESC is no good in a Pred, but in my little Mardave V12 it's great running a stock motor or in my RC18T with a mild motor. I never really knew how many 'National' cars were sold while the 'International' and XK-5 were around as this was a similar good £100 less for the kit. I'd guess there's possibly no slipper, no lightweight screws and maybe moulded rockers / steering bits If only it had a silly fully covered bodyshell (like the sheet over it in the pics) they it would look like a Schlesser buggy lol (only joking) I think it's a good move as a good few people are put off by the price of the high spec car

Hello Cooper, Yes, the XRS is better than the P8. It is simply more evolved and more efficient. The XRS shares more in common with the X10 than the price will lead you to believe. And, the XRS is fully upgradeable to X10 spec. as you wish to do it. The XRS still bears the TTECH name, the X10 heritage and the great new level of support that we have come to expect from Ttech UK and Ttech America.

coops - it would of course be cheaper if you just upgrade the front end. BUT you will be missing out on the X10 transmission.
I know you have the Tamiya conversion in your car, and i have no idea how reliable it is, but the X10 transmission is close to being bullet proof now!
