Not sure if you guys get US version of RC Car Action in the UK, but none the less, this post on forums.radiocontrolzone.com is very interesting. Sounds like Pete (the reviewer) had a blast with the buggy. 'nuff said, MX4

Hello everyone.
I will be reviewing the car for the February 2006 issue of RC Car Action magazine.
I have now tested the X10 at two different tracks, and I had two completely different experiences with it.
At a large, American style outdoor dirt track, the car handled unbelievably well, and it jumped effortlessly.
At another, much, much smaller indoor blue-groove track, the car was very hard to control and I broke the carbon steering link.
I have seen that this is a common problem, since the link 's design was incorrect prior to the manufacture process. I will try to obtain a new link ASAP, but it looks like the report is due before any extensive testing can be done.
I did have a good experience with the car, but the fact that parts support is essentially zero in the states adds to the detriments of the vehicle.
I'll let you know what happens, look for the review and pictures in the Feb '06 issue of RC Car Action.
Thanks, Pete

I have posted this in the Radio Control Zone Forums, and now I'll post it here.
This concerns both the "build tips" thread and this one.
I am planning on including a small column within the article of tips given by X10 drivers on the Internet. If those of you who want to submit your tips would simply post them here, I'll sift through them and let you know when the article goes to print whose tips made it in. If we use your tip, we'll send you a few sheets of RC Car Action Decals.
Please keep the tips under 20-25 words.
If you want me to just use one of your tips from the other thread, just let me know. If I have to rewrite it, I'll let you know.
Thanks, Pete

It looks like I'll have plenty of tips to use int he subsection. Thanks guys.
I'll mention your screenname in the section I write!
I fgot a tip from Yokomo-mx4 that #10 tips were the most "usable".
I just have to wait until the final edit is done before I can send out the stickers.

I can't confirm that, but I did just get word from Richard himself that the new steel steering link will be ready to ship in about 10 days. He said I will be receiving all the spares I need by then as well. I am located in Connecticut, USA, by the way.

I thought it was pretty neutral. I tried to point out the obvious problems (price, parts support, etc.) and also point out the obvious abilities of the car in terms of performance.
Anoyne who really loves this car will not appreciate my article, because they will have a bias towards it already. This was a strictly objective assessment of the vehicle based on my time with it, up to the point of publishing.
Keep in mind the article was written without much experience with the car. I will be posting updated race reports on several forums, this one included.
Or, was this a disappointment in terms of my writing? If so, I apologize. What could I have done to improve?
Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Keep in mind the article was written without much experience with the car. I will be posting updated race reports on several forums, this one included. That does not help T.Tech sell cars! The Pred is a "racing car" and if you end up loving it and posting this on various forums, that does not change what you have writtern in the mag. I thing think follow ups should be published in the same medium as the article, or is that just me? Anyway, any cahance of us Brits being able to read it any time soon? Seeing as you used some of our tips? ;D

and eeuh do we stil get our stickers ? I'd like to read it too, and in addition to what northy said, it's not a car you jut screw together and race, it's something you have to build and maintain, alot! (like already said before on this board) can't judge more without reading the article
